Ms Stephanie Law Wan-sin joined the Faculty Office as a multi-media designer in March 2026.
Before joining FLASS, Stephanie worked in various roles at Hong Kong Baptist University and the City University of Hong Kong, with responsibility for multimedia and graphic design. She also held design-related positions at several advertising agencies and NGOs. In her new role as the Faculty's multimedia designer, she will be responsible for photography and videography, designing communications and collateral materials, creating digital images, and producing audio-visual material for Faculty websites, other digital platforms, and presentations.
Don't forget to smile when she points her camera at you.

Dr Johan Ng Yau-yin joined us as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Physical Education in January 2026.
Before joining EdUHK, Dr Ng was a Research Assistant Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on the psychological processes underlying sport and exercise participation, the design and evaluation of physical activity interventions, and the use of information technology in movement behaviour measurement. He has published in high‑impact journals, including Perspectives on Psychological Science, Health Psychology Review, and the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity. He has also contributed to several major projects funded by the UGC, serving as Co-I/Co-PI on General Research Fund and Research Impact Fund grants.
Dr Ng is actively involved in academic service. He is a Senior Associate Editor for the Journal of Physical Activity and Health and an editorial board member of the International Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology (JSEP). In 2023, he received the JSEP Excellence in Reviewing Award, recognising his significant contributions to academic peer review.

Dr Jiang Shan joined us as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Physical Education in January 2026.
Prior to joining EdUHK, Dr Jiang was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at The University of Hong Kong. She earned her PhD and Master’s degrees from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and was a Visiting Scholar in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney, supported by a PhD International Mobility for Partnerships and Collaborations Award. A former National Level I soccer athlete, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Beijing Normal University and studied Education at the State University of New York at Albany on a full scholarship.
Her research investigates eHealth interventions, early childhood motor development and movement behaviours, and how physical activity relates to cognitive health across the lifespan. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Sport and Health Science and the Journal of Medical Internet Research, and received CUHK Outstanding Student Awards (2024 & 2025) and the British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) PhD Academy Award. She was also selected for the Bill Kohl Peer Review Academy and serves on the Early Career Network committee of the Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity.

Dr Ye Huiyan joined us as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology in December 2025.
Dr Ye obtained her PhD in Education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Prior to joining The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), she served as a postdoctoral fellow at CUHK. Her research journey in mathematics education has afforded her extensive exposure to diverse educational systems, pedagogical philosophies, and cultural contexts. Inspired by Papert’s constructionism, her research focuses on technology-enhanced mathematics teaching and learning, with a particular emphasis on programming-based mathematical problem-solving and the integration of AI literacy in K–12 mathematics education. She also actively contributes to research in mathematics teacher education and professional development.

Dr Bob Zhang Ying joined us as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology in December 2025.
Dr Zhang received his PhD in Mathematics Education from The University of Hong Kong, and holds an MSc in Statistics and a BSc in Applied Mathematics from Central China Normal University. His research focuses on AI-enhanced mathematics education, teacher education, and the learning sciences. He proposed the Dynamic-Visualisation-supported-Dialogic-Teaching (DVsDT) approach to support systematic professional development for mathematics teachers and to enhance teacher–student dialogue in technology-rich classrooms.
His work emphasises empirical research grounded in everyday instructional practices. He is actively engaged in mathematics education communities across the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, Chinese mainland, and internationally, and is committed to advancing a “3S” vision—Sustainability, Scalability, and Spreadability—for mathematics teacher education.

Dr Hannah Sue Mumby joined us as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies in December 2025.
Dr Mumby brings interdisciplinary expertise in human–wildlife interactions at the intersection of conservation science and behaviour. Prior to joining EdUHK, she held a cross‑faculty Assistant Professorship at the University of Hong Kong (2019–2025), spanning the School of Biological Sciences and the Department of Politics and Public Administration.
She was previously based at the University of Cambridge as a Branco Weiss – Society in Science Fellow and Drapers’ Company Fellow at Pembroke College, and has held international fellowships, including a College for Life Sciences Fellowship at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin and a Fulbright Scholarship in the United States.
Dr Mumby obtained her PhD from the University of Sheffield, where she examined life history and environmental influences in Asian elephants. She is the author of Elephants (HarperCollins, 2020) and recipient of the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour’s Christopher Barnard New Investigator Award.

Dr Wang Qi joined us as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Science and Environmental Studies in November 2025.
Dr Wang received his PhD and postdoctoral training from the City University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on the environmental fate and risk assessment of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs). His methodology combines targeted trace-level analysis, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and computational non-target screening to identify CECs, their alternatives, and their metabolites across various environmental and biological matrices.
Dr Wang utilises toxicokinetic–toxicodynamic modeling to assess their bioavailability and ecological risks. His research explores how human activities drive environmental changes, providing critical insights into their consequences for water quality, food safety, human health, and ecosystem integrity. To date, he has published 60 peer-reviewed articles, including 20 in the leading journal Environmental Science & Technology. He holds an h-index of 30 and is a recipient of the RGC Junior Research Fellow Scheme.
